Fulham have made a £20m bid for Crystal Palace defender Joachim Andersen.

That is according to the Athletic’s ultra-reliable David Ornstein, who says that Palace are looking for a fee closer to £40m but that talks are continuing between the clubs.

Marco Silva’s side are in the market for a new centre back following Tosin Adarabioyo’s free transfer to Chelsea, and have already seen a bid for Aston Villa defender Diego Carlos rejected, although discussions remain ongoing.

Tim Ream has also left Craven Cottage, albeit that was offset by the arrival of Jorge Cuenca from Villarreal.

Andersen, who represented Denmark at EURO 2024, has previously played for Fulham, having spent the 2020/21 season on loan at the club. He made 31 appearances as they suffered relegation from the Premier League.

He joined Palace the following summer from Lyon, and has since gone onto become a key man, making 112 appearances across three years, including all 38 in the league last season.

The 28-year-old is not the only defender in Oliver Glasner’s squad attracting attention, with Marc Guehi the subject of interest from Newcastle United.
