It may be Christmas Eve, but the Italian media are not taking any breaks yet and AC Milan appear on the front page of each major paper.

In case you missed it, we put out an analysis of five of the key extracts from Gerry Cardinale’s interview with Harvard Business School. One of the things that has generated headlines is that he declared Inter went ‘bankrupt’ after winning the title, which he doesn’t want to repeat with Milan.

The Italian newspapers are a mix of the January targets Milan are looking at, Inter’s anger over Cardinale’s comments and Juventus wanting another centre-back from the Rossoneri.

La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Milan, Akliouche and Leweling: winger coups for Fonseca.”

Corriere dello Sport: “Marotta hits back [at Cardinale]: ‘Only Inter has two [stars] in Milan’. The director: ‘Insulting and inadequate claims’.”

Tuttosport: “Tomori in Arabia, then Zirkzee. Juve, two coups ready. The Supercoppa in Riyadh offers a chance to negotiate with Milan.”

QS: “Jimenez is growing, Theo needs to be relaunched, Fonseca in the balance. Against Roma, there will still be many absences in attack. The coach could have them play together.”
