GdS: Juventus join Milan in pursuing Italian revolution – the shared targets

AC Milan and Juventus have a shared objective: to strengthen their Italian core. As a result, there is some overlap on summer transfer targets.
This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport talks about the work that sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli wants to do in order to give the next head coach the best chance of building a winning era, and it is centred around getting more Italian players in.
Sandro Tonali is the big dream, something that would be very painful for Milan fans even if a return to the Rossoneri has also been mentioned. The asking price is €60-70m, and Giuntoli has started to work on it, but the operation is certainly difficult .
Then there are Pietro Comuzzo and Lorenzo Lucca. Milan have been after the Udinese striker for a long time and they seriously thought of making an investment in him during the winter, before succeeding in convincing Feyenoord to sell Santiago Gimenez.
Comuzzo on the other hand is a recent idea for the Milan leadership but one that intrigues, given the potential changes in the centre-back department. The paper doesn’t mention a valuation for either, but La Viola are believed to have turned down €35m from Napoli in January.
