Kyle Walker has long been subject to rumours of a permanent stay at AC Milan, but it seems this option could be off the table due to the season.

With Milan failing to achieve many of their goals, there are understood to be financial consequences as a result. For example, the club may not be able to be as lenient in the market due to the lower revenues available, which are inevitable next season (as we have covered on Substack).

So, there are a few players that could be affected by this, and this morning’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) states that Walker is among those.

Once, it seemed like his move was a case of when, not if, but recently he has spoken about his Manchester City career not being fully over, and with the Rossoneri not likely to achieve a Champions League place, Gazzetta states that a return is ‘most likely’.

The falling chances of Champions League football have certainly not come around recently, and this would have been known when he signed a deal in January, with an option to buy included, so we cannot write off a move yet. However, it would seem that right now, the chances are lowering.
