Genk have announced that 32-year-old central midfielder Patrik Hrosovsky has extended his contract with the club. The Slovakian has signed a deal that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2026 season. Hrosovsky has been with the current Belgian Pro League leaders since joining from Czech side Viktoria Plzen back in the summer of 2019. This season has been his best in terms of goals. Usually operating in a deeper role, Hrosovsky has scored a career high seven goals and provided two assists.

Since joining the Belgian side, the Slovakian international has played 224 games and scored 18 goals. Prior to that he had played 214 times for Plzen, scoring 13 goals. Hrosovksky was part of the Slovakia squad for Euro 2020 and has made 57 appearances for the national side. During his time with Plzen he also won three league titles. So far at Genk, he has one the Belgian cup. This year he has a chance to add a league title in Belgium to his list of accolades.
