Genoa CEO Andres Blazquez insists the Rossoblu are ‘building the team for next season’ alongside Roma-linked Patrick Vieira.
Vieira has recently emerged as one of the candidates to replace Claudio Ranieri in 2025-26, but Genoa are confident of keeping the ex-France international at Marassi next season.
“I see it positively, and I am confident. We have a serious ownership group that is very present, practically at every match,” club CEO Blazquez said via Tuttosport.
“They are involved and very attentive to every detail. I see a bright future.
“The scouting work has been in place for many years, now we are adding players in the right positions based on what the coach needs. We are building the team for next season alongside Patrick.”
Genoa appointed Vieira in November 2024, replacing Alberto Gilardino.
The ex-Arsenal and Juventus midfielder signed a two-year contract with an option for a third season.
Genoa won seven games, drew eight and lost five during Vieira’s tenure.
