After a lengthy time on the injury list, Gent’s Moroccan international Tarik Tissoudali has been deemed fit enough to return to action. As reported by HLN, the player has been given the green light by the Gent medical staff to return to action. It is unlikely that head coach Hein Vanhaezebrouck will give the striker a start straight away, but even against RFC Seraing this weekend he could be on the bench. With the likes of Gift Orban and Hugo Cuypers finding the net regularly, Vanhaezebrouck is in a position where there is no pressure to rush Tissoudali’s return.

Tissoudali picked up an injury last July that has seen him out for months, costing him a chance to represent Morocco at the World Cup. The 29-year-old joined Gent in the winter of 2021 from Beerschot and has gone on to score 34 goals in just 72 games, while also providing 14 assists.

While Gent can welcome back Tissoudali, another player has departed the club. Former Cameroon captain Michael Ngadeu has left the club for China. As reported a number of weeks ago, the 32-year-old had been weighing up a substantial offer from an then unnamed Chinese side. Gent have now revealed that it was Beijing Guoan who made an offer for the central defender that he couldn’t refuse. His contract was due to end in the summer, but the club have negotiated a fee with Beijing Guoan to release Ngadeu from his contract early.
