Germany have qualified for the quarter-finals of the Nations League and they also have aspirations to host the finals next summer, in 2025.

When questioned by a representative of FSV 1968 Behringen on Germany’s chances of hosting the tournament, Julian Nagelsmann spoke openly about the possibility of doing so.

“That is within the realm of possibility,” Nagelsmann said in Monday’s press conference. “We are trying to qualify for it and then to be the host nation. We showed with the great European Championship that we can do it. And also with the 2006 World Cup.”

As noted by kicker, Nagelsmann then almost revealed the two locations that the DFB have in mind, before being stopped by press spokeswoman Franziska Wülle. With a wink, Nagelsmann added: “I can’t reveal them yet.”

The final four mini-tournament will take place between June 4 and June 8 in 2025, and a decision will be made after the quarter-finals in March.
