Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli confirmed they are after David Hancko, even though the player recently called ‘fake news’ the reports linking him to the Bianconeri. The exec dished to DAZN on Sunday (via SOSFanta).
“We’re looking around. He’s a good player, whom we have been following for a while, but he’s not the only one. We’re waiting for teams to uncover their intentions. We know we’ll have to do something in the back.”
The exec discussed the possible sales of Nicolò Fagioli and Douglas Luiz.
“At this stage, we plan to make up for the absences. We have suffered a little when we had to rotate. Sincerely, we’d like to keep everybody, then the transfer market will dictate how these things go. We wish to stand pat. Arkadiusz Milik is doing very well and has resumed training on the pitch. We count on having him back with the squad in a week or two. He should be available in early January.”
Hancko denied having come to terms with Juventus in an interview with AD Sportwereld (via Mediaset).
“I’m not happy with this fake news saying that I spoke and even struck an agreement with them. It’s absolutely not true. They might be interested in me, but we’ve never talked directly. I told my teammates that the reports were unfounded. I’ve no idea where they come from.”
According to TuttoSport, Juventus are trying to sign Hancko on an initial loan, spending €4/5M right away and €20/25M in June. They offered a five-year contract with €2.5M wages, and the defender is very keen. On the other hand, Feyenoord value him a tad higher and might not like the formula.
