PSG captain Grace Geyoro has revealed her desire to join Chelsea and confirmed that the two clubs are holding talks over a deal.
Geyoro has spent her entire senior career with PSG and is under contract until 2024, having signed fresh terms in December 2021.
The midfielder has been the subject of interest from Chelsea during the summer window, with the Blues submitting a 'rare' offer for her, according to reports in France.
In an interview with RMC Sport, Geyoro confirmed she was being pursued by Chelsea, and labelled it a 'great opportunity'.
"Everyone knows it: I had extended, I had the armband, everything was going well," Geyoro said when asked about her situation at PSG.
"Inevitably, I had clubs that were a bit on me, especially Chelsea, I don't hide it. They have a real desire to recruit me. They are very determined.
"There have been a lot of discussions, with the club too. I also gave my point of view on this. My desire too, it was: why not join Chelsea? It was running through my head. It's a great opportunity for me... Now talks are happening between the two clubs."
Geyoro revealed that she had spoken to France teammate Eve Perisset, who joined Emma Hayes' side this summer, and the new signing reinforced the Chelsea's keenness to sign her.
The 25-year-old touched on the 'six explosive months' that unfolded at PSG in influencing her decision to want to move on, beginning shortly before she signed her new contract. PSG midfielder Kheira Hamraoui was assaulted in November, the player's lawyer hit out at the club in March, criticising Hamraoui's subsequent treatment, and there have been reports of training ground bust ups.
However, Geyoro stressed that her interest in Chelsea largely concerned her personal desire to move out of her comfort zone.
"Today, as I've always said, I've always been 200% at PSG, I've always done everything," Geyoro added. "I have been at Paris Saint-Germain for 10 years. I think I did a lot of things at PSG. It's time for me to get out of this 'comfort zone', to know something else
"Chelsea is a team that attracts a lot of people, it's a great English and European team. I have this desire today; why not know a new experience?"
