It is always important for FC Barcelona to remain attentive to new developments that take place across their youth categories. After all, many of the club’s best young performers end up emerging from those very same youth teams. Fortunately for Barcelona, they now have a coach who takes a special liking towards this route.
La Masia and the Barcelona youth teams have a lot of quality to offer, and it just matters how the coach looks to make use of them. Already this season, the likes of Marc Bernal and Marc Casado have been given opportunities by Hansi Flick, and it has resulted in both players gaining a lot of attention and praise as a result of that.
Now, however, it seems that Flick already has his eyes set on another youngster who continues to find more consistency with Barcelona Atletic in terms of involvement this season compared to his previous experiences. Thanks to these displays and his well-established performances in the past, he continues to have Flick’s attention.
That player, according to MARCA, is none other than Noah Darvich. The 18-year-old attacking midfielder, who just so happens to share his nationality with the first team’s German coach, has already trained with the first team on several occasions and has been one of the standout performers for his country within their youth teams.
Having been the captain of the Under-17 team that last won the FIFA World Cup for their own category, Darvich’s performances ended up earning him a place in the team of the tournament as well. Even in the Under-18 team’s most recent game, he ended up scoring again as well.
Moving forward, however, it is reported that Flick continues to keep a close eye on him while he plays for the B team and seems to think that he has more to offer than just his brilliant technical abilities. His leadership and character are two other things that the Barcelona coach appreciates, and they are also responsible for having led him to the captaincy of a World Cup winning side as well.
