As the much-anticipated El Clasico approaches this Sunday, SPORT reports that Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is already settled on the starting XI he plans to field against Real Madrid.
The stakes are incredibly high, as no manager has ever won four Clasicos in a single season, adding to the pressure on the Barcelona coach to get it right once again.
Flick is expected to repeat the same team that suffered defeat to Inter Milan in the Champions League, despite some key changes that could be made.
One of the notable inclusions is that of Alejandro Balde, who has been cleared to play after a four-week layoff. However, with no recent competitive match experience, Balde is likely to start on the bench, with Gerard Martin and Eric Garcia continuing in their roles as full-backs.
In the centre of defence, Inigo Martinez will once again partner Pau Cubarsi. Martinez, who has been a solid figure in defence this season, will aim to help keep Real Madrid’s attacking threats at bay.

In midfield, Flick will once again rely on his trusted trio: Frenkie de Jong, Pedri, and Dani Olmo. While there has been speculation that Fermin Lopez could take Olmo’s spot after impressing in recent outings, it appears that Olmo will hold onto his starting place for now.
The big decision for Flick, however, revolves around the centre-forward role. Robert Lewandowski, who managed to feature in the final stages of the Inter match, is available but has been struggling with match sharpness after his recovery.
Given his lack of pace in recent performances, Ferran Torres is the favourite to partner Lamine Yamal and Raphinha in attack. Torres has been in good form and could provide the necessary spark for Barcelona in what is set to be a high-intensity battle.
With all roads pointing to this starting lineup, Barcelona will be hoping to continue their impressive form against Real Madrid and potentially seal the La Liga title.
