Since his arrival at FC Barcelona, Hansi Flick has exceeded almost all the expectations that the Blaugrana fans had of him. The German coach has already won two trophies with the Catalan side, and is still on course to win two more big titles this season.
The latest trophy that he won was the Copa del Rey, as his team beat Real Madrid in the final on Saturday in Seville.
As Mundo Deportivo has noted, with this win, Flick has already beaten the legendary Barcelona trainer Pep Guardiola in one aspect. Following the Copa final victory, the German tactician has now won his first seven consecutive finals as a coach, surpassing the Spaniard’s record of 6 first consecutive victories.
For Hansi Flick, his first title came with Bayern Munich, when he won the DFB Pokal after beating Bayer Leverkusen in the final with a 4-2 scoreline in 2020. He also reached the UEFA Champions League final that year, in which his Bayern side beat Paris Saint-Germain with a 1-0 scoreline.
He also won the European Super Cup final (2-1 against Sevilla), the German Super Cup final (3-2 against Borussia Dortmund), and the Club World Cup final (1-0 against Tigres) that year.
His next two finals came with Barcelona. The first was that of the Spanish Super Cup, in which he beat Real Madrid 5-2, while the next came in the Copa del Rey, and his side again won against the Merengues 3-2.
On the other hand, Guardiola played his first final with Barcelona in 2009, when his side beat Athletic Club 4-1 in Copa del Rey. Then he won the UCL final (2-0 against Manchester United), the Spanish Super Cup final (5-1 on aggregate against Athletic Club), the European Super Cup final (1-0 against Shakhtar Donetsk), and the Club World Cup final (2-1 against Estudiantes) in that same year.

His sixth final came in 2011, when his side beat Sevilla 5-4 on aggregate in the Spanish Super Cup final. However, he fell in his seventh final, when his side faced Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final, which the Merengues won 1-0 that year.
Thus, Hansi Flick has already overtaken one of the best coaches in Barcelona’s history in terms of winning the most significant games. He can go on to build on this record if he reaches the UCL final by beating Inter Milan, and then the winner of the Arsenal-PSG matchup.
