FC Barcelona have shown a great level of inconsistency this season and it is quite worrying. Initially having secured the top spot in La Liga, the Catalan giants have since gone on to lose out that place to Atletico Madrid. However, Barcelona have now dropped down to third place in the Spanish First Division.

Unfortunately for Hansi Flick’s team, a top-notch performance against Atletico Madrid could not see them muster up a win. Despite creating chance after chance and limiting the opposition as much as possible, Diego Simeone’s side was just simply more clinical.

However, as per SPORT, it is now clear to see that there is some underlying issue at Barcelona. Furthermore, the report states that Hansi Flick seems to have already figured out what that issue is, and it has left him feeling both hopeful and quite worried at the same time.

For the German coach, the primary issue with his team is that they have a lot of talent and football to offer, something that works tremendously and inspires motivation against top sides, but leaves the players a lot less motivated or lacking intensity when playing against sides of a lesser stature.

Already this season, Barcelona have proven that they can take on anyone. Against the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, and even Atletico Madrid, the team showcase their true technical brilliance and their ability to dominate games. However, that has also cost them against other teams.

Flick understands that while Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are the two contenders for the league title, his team will be facing opponents apart from them for most of the season. Dropping points in those games is simply unforgivable, and Flick needs to address this mental and psychological issue as soon as possible.

struggling to convert their chances either, but it is now Flick’s responsibility to help his players overcome whatever is holding them back.
