Ansu Fati has yet to find his place in the plans of manager Hansi Flick at FC Barcelona.

Although he had the opportunity to leave the club in January, the young forward decided to stay in hopes of earning the coach’s trust and securing more playing time in the second half of the season.

However, the early signs are not positive for the 22-year-old attacker.

Flick’s stance clear

As highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, it is yet another clear indicator that the La Masia graduate does not have a place in Flick’s plans at Barça.

In the first match following the closure of the winter transfer window on Monday, Fati has been excluded from the squad list.

It must be remembered that Fati was omitted from the squad for four games in a row in January – twice in the Spanish Super Cup and then once each in Copa del Rey and La Liga.

The Spaniard’s return to the squad only came about after Dani Olmo’s injury in the game against Getafe.

However, even though he made his way back to the squad, Fati was not afforded any minutes by Flick, who had even opened the doors for the attacker to leave in January.

The La Masia graduate, though, opted to stay at the club, even rejecting proposals from other teams, but finds himself on the outside again with Olmo’s return.

It remains to be seen if Fati’s situation changes in the coming weeks, but the early signs are not positive.
