The players of FC Barcelona continue to be eager about wanting to contribute in some way or the other. While there is definitely an established order of things, there is still always room for more competition. In fact, it is through this very competition that Barcelona remains as capable as they have been this season.

For Hansi Flick, players are given opportunities based on the merits that they display. Whether it is in training or in the matches themselves, those who perform will continue to get their chances. Marc Casado, for instance, has earned the right to become a key first team player ever since Marc Bernal’s unfortunate injury.

However, there is a certain Spanish forward who continues to want to have a bigger role in the team. Ansu Fati, a talented La Masia product who has struggled a lot with injuries and inconsistencies in recent seasons, is a player who continues to thrive for more and he may get his opportunity soon.

That is because, according to SPORT, his role against Sevilla could possibly be that of a starter. The reasoning for that includes factors that the player himself has control over, as well as other reasons that are not in his control but they do look to be favoring him for now.

Firstly, the player has looked sharp in training and his recent cameos have progressively looked more and more promising. So far, however, he has been mainly just used as a substitute but he did get close to 30 minutes in each of his last two appearances.

For this reason, a gradual improvement in form and his overall involvement points towards a bigger role against Sevilla right after the international break. However, Hansi Flick could also be forced to play the young forward due to the need to make some rotations.

With Lamine Yamal suffering from discomfort and both Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha set to return to the team after playing some exhausting games for their respective National teams, it may be a wise move to rest some players against Sevilla before Barcelona take on Bayern Munich and Real Madrid back to back.

As such, a lot of opportunities are beginning to open up for Ansu Fati. While Pau Victor will also want a chance to show his qualities, SPORT reports that Fati has currently overtaken the former Girona forward in terms of Flick’s hierarchy of attacking substitutes.
