Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has revealed who he believes was the standout performer in the club’s recent drubbing of Valencia.
Barcelona are of course fresh off a victory to remember on Sunday night.
After welcoming Valencia to Catalunya’s capital for a La Liga clash, the Blaugrana ran riot, en route to an eventual 7-1 triumph.
A whole host of the hosts’ stars shone bright over the course of the 90 minutes, with the likes of Alejandro Balde, Lamine Yamal and Frenkie de Jong having been hailed post-match.
The aforementioned Hansi Flick, though, is of the opinion that it was Fermín López who stood out as the game’s best player.
Afforded a rare opportunity to feature from the off last night, midfielder Fermín dazzled, on his way to a haul of two goals and two assists.
And his manager was not at all shy in making clear his appreciation for such efforts post-match:
“He (Fermín) was fantastic. I think he was man of the match. He deserved it because he was involved in so many goals and of course he is a special player. He has a good finish and the dynamic he added was amazing.”
