Harry Kane ends Bundesliga goalscoring drought

Article image:Harry Kane ends Bundesliga goalscoring drought

After five Bundesliga goals without a game, Harry Kane opened the scoring for Bayern Munich against St. Pauli with his 22nd league goal of the season. It’s the longest that the Englishman has gone without scoring in Germany’s top flight and scoring against the Kiezkicker also means that England’s leading goalscorer has now scored against every Bundesliga team this season.

It’s also Kane’s first goal from open play since February 1 when he scored two headed goals against Holstein Kiel in a 4-3 win. The 31-year-old’s two goals in a 3-0 win against Werder Bremen the following matchday on February 7 were both penalties.

Can Harry Kane beat last season’s Bundesliga tally?

With seven Bundesliga games remaining this season, Kane is 14 goals adrift from his tally of 36 goals last season, but he already has eight assists in the league under Vincent Kompany, matching this metric from last campaign.

Kane is also second in goals and assists this season, second to only Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah (44).
