Many Barcelona players have proven themselves to be worthy of the badge this season. Despite struggling in some recent campaigns, several players of the club have now stepped up as their teammates around them have done the same. However, even then, there are the exceptional few at Barcelona that deserve extra credit.

One such player is Spanish midfielder Pedri, who has now finally escaped the injuries that continuously plagued him and stunted his progression. With those worries now behind him, the Barcelona star has established himself as one of the world’s finest midfielders without a question.

However, that praise and progression has not made him lose sight of his humility and respect for his teammates. In a recent interview, as highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, he also chose to praise a fellow Barcelona captain who is currently joining the best individual season of his career.

Raphinha, hailing from Brazil, has been arguably one of the world’s best players this season. With big performances and undeniably good numbers backing up his stellar season so far, the Barcelona captain has well and truly stepped up and is receiving a lot of praise that Pedri believes he is fully deserving of:

“He really deserves it because there was a time when he received a lot of criticism, when he wasn’t finding his best form, but you always saw him training, wanting to improve, wanting those opportunities that you knew would come based on how hard he worked. He’s been outstanding.”

Similarly, he even spoke about the likes of Spanish midfielders Gavi and Fermin Lopez, both of whom are known for their workrate and incredible commitment to the team:

“It looks like they’re constantly on fire, but the work they do is incredible.”

He even briefly spoke about Ferran Torres, a friend of his and teammate at Barcelona, and suggested that his brilliant form was a result of his own hard work. In many ways, even the Barça forward has risen up to the occasion and continues to deliver great performances.
