Hiram Mier to miss 4 to 6 weeks due to knee injury | OneFootball

After his knee injury in Chivas’ 2-1 victory over Santos Laguna on Wednesday, Hiram Mier has already underwent reconstructive surgery and will look to get back on the pitch soon.

Chivas sent out a release where they announced Mier underwent a successful surgery on Thrusday and will look to have the 29-year-old back on the pitch in four to six weeks.

“Hiram went well from the operation he underwent,” read the statement. “Hiram suffered a lesion of the lateral meniscus of the left knee, which was treated by a partial meniscectomy, in addition to the stabilization of the adjacent cartilage.”

Hiram played in 37 matches for Chivas during the 2018/19 season, scoring one goal.

The report added, “The prognosis for him to return to competition with his teammates is 4 to 6 weeks, depending on his evolution.”

The four to six-week timeline means the centre-back will miss a handful of matches, including matches versus Cruz Azul, on August 31, and a week then the classic tapatío, against Atlas, on September 14.

However, should there be no issues in his rehabilitation, Hiram could be back by the September 28 at the Estadio Azteca versus América.
