In what will be a first for both teams, the AC Milan Women and Inter Women will be playing the Derby della Madonnina at the iconic San Siro stadium.

Matches between the two sides have been played several times at smaller venues but this will be the first time it’ll be played at the main stadium, which is obviously used for the men’s teams usually.

Milan will also head into the Scala del Calcio holding the upper hand, as they’ve won eleven out of 17 games against their intracity rivals. The meeting earlier this season was a 1-1 draw, in Inter’s home game.

This will be the Rossonere’s second time playing at the storied venue, as they first played there in October of 2020. The match was played to a limited audience of 1,000 as the Covid-19 Pandemic was still in full swing, and their opponents then were Juventus.

Milan lost the game by a solitary goal, courtesy of a penalty from their former opponent and current Milan player, Valentina Cernoia. The Diavole will be hoping for a better result this time around.

The derby against Inter is set for this Sunday, December 8th, at 14:30 CEST. Tickets for the game are currently on sale now as the team hopes that many fans will show up to witness history.
