Gianfranco Zola has revealed what he said to Cole Palmer when the pair filmed a feature together recently, which is sure to be great viewing for all Chelsea fans.
Palmer has been nothing short of outstanding since joining the Blues from Manchester City in the summer of 2023 and has won what feels like every individual award going.
The 22-year-old has picked up where he left off last season, when he was named Premier League Young Player of the Year after scoring 22 goals and providing 11 assists.
Palmer already has seven goals and five assists in the first ten games of the campaign and you wouldn’t bet against him matching or bettering his achievements of last season.
The England international has established himself as one of the best players in the Premier League and former Blue Pat Nevin believes there aren’t many better than him in the world.
Zola was at Stamford Bridge to watch Chelsea’s recent victory against Newcastle, in which Palmer played an outstanding pass in the build-up to Nicolas Jackson’s goal.
Palmer has seven goals and five assists in the first ten games of the season.
Chelsea recently teased on social media there was some content coming soon featuring both Palmer and Zola, with the Italian revealing what he said when he met the attacker.
“I was talking about that pass with him a few days ago. We did a feature together. And I was very impressed with the boy,” he told talkSPORT as quoted by The Chelsea Chronicle.
“Honestly. I was just talking about the pass that what impressed me that normally when you play that pass, you put the ball over the head of the defender. This boy is so charming that he put the ball exactly in the inside, and that is a great vision.

“These things cannot be taught because it’s about reaction time, about understanding one second before what’s going to happen, and this boy has got a lot of this. He is doing marvellous things, very impressed. I think everybody is impressed.”
Palmer won’t feature in the Conference League against Noah on Thursday night, and Chelsea are anxiously awaiting results of a knee scan after Lisandro Martinez’s reckless challenge, with the Blues desperately hoping the Englishman will be fit to feature against Arsenal on Sunday.
