Manchester United came back from behind to beat Hong Kong 3-1 in the final match of their post-season tour. Here are our player ratings from the game
(A score of 6 is around average)
Tom Heaton 4 – Made a mistake for Hong Kong’s goal. Should be doing a lot better there.
Tyler Fredricson 5 – Made a few mistakes in possession but luckily, none proved too costly.
Jonny Evans 6.5 – Superb on his final appearance for the club. Solid and assured, leading a group of young defenders well. Great ball to Garnacho inside the box.
Godwill Kukonki 4 – Also had a part to play in Hong Kong’s goal. Should be shutting down the attacker before he gets the shot off.
Jaydan Kamason 6 – Some decent moments down the right, one of which saw him breeze past two players. Had a shot cleared off the line.
Casemiro 6 – Positive with most of his actions. Came off very early.
Bruno Fernandes 6 – Tried a rabona shot when through on goal. That should tell you exactly how he and his teammates felt about the game. Apart from that, an OK performance.
Harry Amass 5 – Was trying a bit too much at times and delaying the ball at crucial moments. Some heavy touches and passes that didn’t help the team.
Shea Lacey 8 – Might have booked his slot in Ruben Amorim’s pre-season plans with that performance. Brilliant feet, looked dangerous on the edge of the box and rode a number of challenges. Nearly got on the score sheet but just got his footing wrong. Best player on the pitch before he was withdrawn.
Alejandro Garnacho 7 – Lively on the left and was a nightmare for the Hong Kong defenders. Not much end product but he was trying things.
Rasmus Hojlund 1 – It’s getting sad at this point. Another nothing performance. Had a good chance to score when Fernandes squared the ball to him but he let the ball get away from him with a poor touch. Hopefully the last time we see him in a United shirt.
Tyler Fletcher 6 – Did OK. Kept his game nice and simple. An effective cameo.
Sekou Kone 7 – Another superb outing for the Malian. Covered so much ground, his passing was exceptional and he didn’t shy away from his duels and challenges. Another one who may force Amorim into including him in the club’s pre-season plans.
Altay Bayindir 6 – Didn’t have much to do.
Reece Munro 6 – Did well on the right of the three-man defence without being tested that much.
Ayden Heaven 8 – Slotted in seamlessly in the middle of the back-three and looked to push the team forward and help pin Hong Kong back. Emphatic headed finish right at the death to make it 3-1
Daniel Armer 6 – Same as Munro. A showing he will be proud of.
Amad 7 – Combined well with Kobbie Mainoo and made some fantastic contributions on his favoured right side and just outside the danger area. Wonderful cross to Heaven for the third of the game. Typical Amad performance.
Tobby Collyer 6.5 – Excellent last-man tackle to stop a rival player from firing at goal.
Manuel Ugarte 6.5 – Injected energy into the side and dominated the middle of the park.
Patrick Dorgu 6.5 – Played with the intensity of a competitive fixture, drawing fouls and making aggressive tackles. Heavily involved in the Red Devils’ forward play.
Mason Mount 7.5 – Fantastic pinpoint cross for Chido Obi’s second of the game. Could have got on the score sheet himself as he forced the Hong Kong goalkeeper into a good save.
Kobbie Mainoo 7 – Superb. Involved in almost everything in the second half. Linked up well wth Amad and put in a few good crosses inside the box.
Chido Obi 9 – Two sumptuous finishes to complete the comeback and secure United’s victory. What a player!
Jack Moorhouse 6 – OK during the few minutes he was on the pitch.
Jim Thwaites 6 – Same as Moorhouse. You can count on him to give everything.
