The Magpies' head coach has led United back into European competition in 2024/25 courtesy of March's Carabao Cup triumph at Wembley, but Howe's side have excelled in the top flight too, surpassing their points total from last term.
They could yet secure Champions League football as they sit in third place in the table, with Newcastle having registered the second-highest goal tally behind the new champions Liverpool.
Howe led his charges on a nine-game winning run in all competitions in the winter, including a six-match stretch of league victories which propelled the Magpies up the division and helped set up what could yet be a memorable end to the campaign, with a second-place finish still within reach.
He has been nominated for the award alongside Liverpool's Arne Slot, Brentford's Thomas Frank, Vítor Pereira of Wolves and Nuno Espírito Santo of Nottingham Forest.
Voting opens at 12pm BST on Thursday, 15th May, and will close at 12pm BST on Monday, 19th May before the winner is announced on Tuesday, 24th May. Newcastle United fans can vote for Howe by clicking here.
