Arsenal have suffered a fresh setback ahead of the Premier League game at Bournemouth later this month.

The Gunners picked up a fourth-straight victory with a 3-1 triumph over Southampton on Saturday.

The Saints tool a surprise lead in the 55th minute, but Arsenal responded brilliantly to win by a convincing margin.

Bukayo Saka was the standout player with one goal and two assists, but Kai Havertz had an equally good outing for Arsenal.

The 25-year-old equalised with a powerful strike before providing a key pass in the lead-up to Saka’s goal prior to stoppage time.

Havertz had seven attempts on goal overall with seven duels won alongside two take-ons.

The club have now suffered a potentially huge blow with Germany confirming that he won’t be available for their coming games.

DFB’s statement read: “Kai Havertz will miss the upcoming international matches against Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Netherlands due to a knee problem. Get well soon, Kai!”

Havertz, who is also the vice-captain of his country, will miss matches against Bosnia & Herzegovina and the Netherlands due to a knee problem.

Havertz did not show any signs of picking up an injury on Saturday. However, he may have suffered a knock on the back of several physical duels against the Saints.

Hopefully, the German will recover in time for the visit of Bournemouth following the international break.

Arsenal host Liverpool in the Premier League after that before a trip to Newcastle United.

Havertz’s presence up front could be critical for the Gunners with Gabriel Jesus in poor form lately.

The ‘unbelievable‘ star has bagged six goals and an assist in ten appearances this term.
