Real Madrid have struggled to find a controller in midfield since Toni Kroos’ departure and their efforts have thus been directed towards finding the right profile to replace him in recent transfer windows.
The Merengues have identified a number of targets to fill in the German’s boots and serve as a regular starter in the middle of the park.
Martin Zubimendi and Florian Wirtz are just some of the players Real Madrid have identified to serve that role, and so is Argentine superstar Alexis Mac Allister.
Speaking to the media recently, the World Cup winner commented on the rumours linking him to Real Madrid and refused to read too much into any rumour at this point in the season.
“I read the rumours and the news reaches me, but the important thing is the present,” he began, standing by his current club Liverpool.

He then went on to stand firm that he would not speak about interest from any suitors while being contractually sworn to the Merseyside club.
“I’m fine at Liverpool, I have a lot of respect for the club and I don’t think it’s necessary to talk about other clubs,” he added, as relayed by Fabrizio Romano.
At the moment, it appears that the player has closed the door to a move to Madrid although his stance could well change when the summer transfer window actually opens.
The 26-year-old midfielder’s current contract with Liverpool runs until June 2028, and the Reds will not allow him to leave for a budget fee given their upper hand. More importantly, however, the player is happy in England.
So far this season, the Argentine star has made 32 league starts for Liverpool and has four goals and as many assists to his name. He averages 1.3 key passes per game and has created five big chances.
