Up next for FC Barcelona is a visit to Milan as they look to take part in their latest UEFA Champions League game. For La Blaugrana, this upcoming match against Inter Milan is now the last step before a potential final. Heading into this game, Barcelona will need to give their all to win.

They definitely have their injury concerns, however, and things will likely get complicated during this game. After all, no team in the world will ever go down without a fight in a match as important as a UEFA Champions League semi-final. Thus, figuring out alternative options will be key for Hansi Flick.

However, what Barcelona can definitely rely on are the players that will be available for the team. This includes the likes of Dani Olmo and Lamine Yamal, two players who can have an impactful game against Inter Milan and turn the tides for Barcelona.

High praise for 17-year-old Barcelona winger

Even ahead of the game, as highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, Olmo was full of praise for his 17-year-old teammate. Yamal had an exceptional first leg performance against Inter Milan at the Montjuic Stadium, and Dani Olmo believes that he thrives in such situations:

“He’s taking it all in stride. We know the kind of player he is and how important he is for the team. It doesn’t surprise me — I’ve seen him put in performances like this time and again, even at the Euros. He’s calm.”

Moreover, when asked about Simone Inzaghi’s tactics to use multiple players to mark Yamal and reduce his involvement in the game, Olmo simply stated that it is a positive because it allows one extra player to be free:

“If they double up on him, that means someone else will be free. If they send two or three his way, we’ll have one or two men open.”

Thanks to Yamal’s ability to draw more attention, Olmo’s statement is factually correct. It would, in theory, free up an extra Barcelona player and that new space for them to exploit will then become an opportunity for the Catalan giants to deal some damage if used correctly.

Undoubtedly, this game will be a massive tactical battle between Hansi Flick and Simone Inzaghi at the end of the day. It is just a matter of which coach ends up adapting better and making the right calls in terms of enabling their team to dominate proceedings and take charge.
