Hansi Flick has not needed a lot of time to make a place in the hearts of the FC Barcelona fans. The German tactician took over from Xavi Hernandez in quite difficult circumstances, as the Blaugrana team had finished the last season without any trophy and with a lot of turmoil with all the drama surrounding the future of Xavi.
Things remained difficult even after his appointment, especially as the Catalans were unable to bring in many new signings for him in his first summer transfer window. Even the two new players brought to the first team, Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, faced a highly uncertain future because of their registration problems.
Still, Flick has been able to overturn the team’s performances in the last 8 months to such a degree that Barcelona are now one of the best teams in Europe, competing for all the big titles at this late stage of the season after already having won the Spanish Super Cup.
Thus, one can imagine both Joan Laporta, who was responsible for making the bet on Flick, and the German coach himself to be quite happy with how things have gone in these months.
In fact, Mundo Deportivo reports that Flick was also asked about what Laporta and he are dreaming of after securing a passage to the Copa del Rey final, and also being among the favourites for the La Liga and the UEFA Champions League titles.
The German manager did not comment on the President’s dream, but revealed his own dream in the following words:
“I don’t know what the president is dreaming about. I imagine it’s beautiful things. What I can say is that I want to win every match and play 15 more games for this team, the club, and the fans. If we achieve that, I’ll be very happy.”
It is definitely nice to see Flick’s happiness being so intertwined with the success of his team. His wholesome approach to his job is one of the factors that have made the German such a successful coach, and hopefully, he will be able to win all of the big titles this season, not only for his own happiness but also for the Blaugrana fans present throughout the world.
