Liverpool fans often dread international breaks through fear of losing some of our best players to long-term injuries and we may be about to see this again.

Despite being brought off at half-time against Crystal Palace because of a groin problem, Alexis Mac Allister was still called up to the Argentina squad for their upcoming games.

Not only has the 25-year-old been selected though, he’s now shared images of himself in training before World Cup qualifiers against Venezuela and Paraguay.

The midfielder was at least alone during the session as there seems to be an effort to assess his fitness but would it not have been best for the player to allow him a week’s rest to recover for the rest of the campaign?
