France’s national team secured a 2-1 win on Monday night over Belgium in the UEFA Nations League contest. Moreover, players on Les Bleus note that Randal Kolo Muani has confidence in them, which he might not have at Paris Saint-Germain after recording a brace.

When PSG signed Kolo Muani, it seemed like a smart move—bringing in a talented French player at the peak of his career. However, things haven’t gone as expected, and the club may now rethink the decision.

Even with Gonçalo Ramos out injured, manager Luis Enrique has often favored a false No. 9 over Kolo Muani. With Ramos sidelined, many thought it would be the ideal opportunity for Muani to step up and secure a starting spot, but that hasn’t happened.

After the win over Belgium, Lazio’s Mattéo Guendouzi and French national team manager Didier Deschamps praised Muani’s performance.

“We all have great confidence in him, we knew he could score,” Guendouzi said (h/t Le10Sport). “We are always with him. When you feel the confidence of a coach, it always does good for the mind. I think he will be able to do a lot of good for PSG in the league or in other competitions.”

Deschamps added: “He is interesting, radiant, confident, and he has a lot of qualities, with a very specific profile. He has a rather efficient header, and thanks to the fact of being able to play with us, he is very often efficient.”

In the last few days, Manchester United have reportedly shown a strong interest in signing Kolo Muani, but he isn’t expected to be available in the January transfer window.

The Red Devils could benefit from a more proven and experienced striker, especially considering Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee’s struggles at Old Trafford.
