La Liga giants Real Madrid could welcome a headline member of the club’s defensive ranks back for next year’s Club World Cup.

That’s according to Marca, who point towards Éder Militão as the player in question.

Defender Militão, for his part, was of course condemned to another long-term spell on the sidelines last month.

En route to Real’s 4-0 La Liga drubbing of Osasuna, the Brazilian international went to ground in evident distress, before being stretchered out of proceedings amid concerning scenes.

An ensuing round of medical tests then confirmed the worst – that Militão had suffered a 2nd ACL tear in the space of a little over a year.

The 26-year-old has spent the weeks since recovering first at home, and more recently at Valdebebas.

All of a Blancos persuasion, in turn, will no doubt be interested to hear of a fresh update on Militão’s wellbeing this weekend coming to the fore.

As per a report from Marca:

‘Without setting any time limits, he is counted on 100% for the start of the 2025/26 season.’

So confident are the medical team in Spain’s capital, in fact, that it is not ruled out that Militão could even be cleared to play his part in next summer’s Club World Cup.
