Newell’s Old Boys President Ignacio Astore insists the deal is ‘not done yet’ with Inter for Tomas Perez, but confirms it will cost ‘around 7-8m, we are discussing the bonuses.’
The patron flew in for face to face negotiations with Inter President Beppe Marotta in Milan today and spoke to reporters as he left the club headquarters.
He was asked about the reports of a done deal worth €7m plus another €2m in add-ons, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“It’s not done yet, the negotiations will continue between today and tomorrow,” replied Astore.
“We are very close, but there are still a few details to go on the bonuses.”
What of suggestions that 19-year-old Newell’s Old Boys striker Mateo Silvetti could be part of a package deal?
“No, for now Silvetti is out of the negotiations.”

What the Newell’s Old Boys President did do was confirm the figures are largely accurate around the proposal put forward by Inter and that it is now just a matter of time.
“We are talking 7-8m, perhaps a little more. We are discussing the bonuses now. We have an agreement on the overall figure, what changes is how it is divided between the fee and bonuses, but we’re progressing well.
“Now we have another meeting, I will give a response and then return to Argentina.”
Tomas Perez is a 19-year-old midfielder who is a product of the Newell’s Old Boys youth academy and was promoted to the senior squad in July 2024.
