Lautaro Martinez is already Inter’s best goalscorer in the Champions League, with 19 goals.

However, El Toro is seemingly reluctant to rest on his laurels.

Instead, he continues to lead by example.

Last night’s strike was Lautaro’s seventh in ten Champions League appearances this term.

Samuel Eto’o was the last Nerazzurri star to rack up those numbers in one Champions League campaign.

Indeed, he did so in 2009/10 when the San Siro outfit won an unprecedented treble under Jose Mourinho.

If it’s anything to go by, the Nerazzurri faithful can look forward to the season’s final stretch with optimism.

Meanwhile, Simone Inzaghi’s side kept Harry Kane at bay.

Though the woodwork saved Yann Sommer in the first half, Kane had a quiet evening by his high standard.

That’s largely thanks to Inter’s gigantic defensive effort.
