Inter Milan Coach Admits To Requesting Champions League Final Tickets For Curva Nord Ultras | OneFootball

Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi has admitted to investigators that he requested extra tickets to the 2023 Champions League final for ultras with the Curva Nord.

This according to Italian news agency ANSA, via FCInterNews. They report on what the Nerazzurri coach told prosecutors when questioned in the ongoing investigation into Inter and AC Milan ultras.

Yesterday, Inter coach Inzaghi spoke to anti-mafia prosecutors as part of an investigation into Inter and Milan ultras.

The investigation concerns alleged illegal activities by Inter ultras group the Curva Nord and Milan counterparts the Curva Sud.

One of the key facets of the allegations concerns the procuring and selling of match tickets.

And in the case of one particular high-profile match, Inter’s coach has admitted that the ultras went through him to make their requests.

Inzaghi Admits To Requesting Champions League Final Tickets On Behalf Of Inter Ultras

One of the key figures with the Nord under investigation is Marco Ferdico.

Ferdico is one of the most high-profile leading figures within the Nord.

Prosecutors allege that Ferdico has used his influence to engage in illegal activities. They also allege mafia ties.

And according to ANSA, Inter coach Inzaghi told investigators whom he spoke to yesterday that Ferdico had directly made a phone call to him shortly before the 2023 Champions League final.

Inter faced Manchester City in that season’s final in Istanbul.

Inzaghi told investigators that Ferdico had asked him to try and procure more tickets to that match for ultras with the Nord.

And according to ANSA, the Inter coach told investigators that he conveyed this request to the club on behalf of the Nord.

Inzaghi told investigators that his desire was to allow for Inter fans to be at the match in Instanbul.

Meanwhile, investigators also asked Inzaghi whether he knew murdered ultras leader Antonio Bellocco.

The Inter coach told investigators that he did not know Bellocco. He had only heard of the former ultras leader while learning the news that he had been murdered by fellow Inter fan Andrea Beretta.

And Inzaghi told investigators that he had heard of Beretta prior to that murder. However, he had never personally interacted with Beretta.
