Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi could call up young midfielder Thomas Berenbruch for tomorrow’s Serie A clash with Roma.

This according to Italian outlet Goal.com, via FCInterNews. They report that the 19-year-old could get the chance as part of the Nerazzurri’s senior squad due to a couple injuries in midfield.

At the moment, Inter coach Inzaghi could have a couple injuries to contend with in midfield.

One thing that’s certain is that Piotr Zielinski will not be part of the squad for Sunday’s match against Roma.

Medical tests yesterday confirmed that the Polish international suffered a thigh strain during the international break.

Zielinski may not be on the sidelines for long. Reports suggest that he could even push to be back as soon as next Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Young Boys.

But there is no doubt that Zielinski will be out on Sunday.

Moreover, Kristjan Asllani is also a doubt for Sunday’s match. The Albanian international picked up a knock in training, and may miss out.

Nicolo Barella, on the other hand, is back. The Italian international has returned from a thigh injury.

There may be one or two doubts about Barella’s sharpness immediately after a return, however.

Inzaghi Could Call Up Thomas Berenbruch For Roma Vs Inter Serie A Clash

ZIelinski’s absence means that options are a bit limited for Inzaghi in terms of the box-to-box midfield role.

And if Asllani is also out, that would leave Inter without their main backup option to Hakan Calhanoglu.

Therefore, Inzaghi is ready to tap into the youth team to bolster the squad, reports Goal.com.

The outlet anticipates that teenage midfielder Berenbruch could be a part of Inter’s squad on Sunday.

The 19-year-old is currently playing for Inter’s Primavera or Under-19 team.

Berenbruch has been one of the Primavera side’s outstanding players this season. He appears to be the latest midfielder on the production line after the likes of Cesare Casadei and GIovanni Fabbian.

And Berenbruch could get his opportunity in the senior team as soon as Sunday against Roma.
