Inter Milan are the latest side to explore a deal for Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund.
Hojlund has endured a difficult second season at Manchester United and has been linked with an exit as the summer window approaches. The Denmark international has scored just four goals in the Premier League and produced an anonymous performance during the club’s Europa League final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday night.
His downturn in form has followed an encouraging first season with the Red Devils, in which Hojlund scored 16 goals in all competitions. Manchester United are expected to sign a striker in the summer transfer window and a decision will be made on the 22-year-old’s future.
Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Italian clubs are monitoring the ex-Atalanta forward. Juventus and Napoli both made approaches to Manchester United in March, while Inter Milan have now expressed interest.
The Nerazzurri view Hojlund as a fresh option in attack with the contracts of Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa to expire in the summer.
However, the sticking point on any deal appears the price tag. Manchester United spent £72m to sign Hojlund from Atalana in 2023, after just one season in Serie A.
United are unlikely to recoup a fee anywhere close to that sum for a player whose performances have regressed this season.
