Inter Milan have identified Como manager Fabregas as a potential candidate to replace Simone Inzaghi (h/t Gazzetta dello Sport).
Inzaghi is facing an uncertain future at the San Siro following Inter’s humiliating 5-0 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final.
Inter also lost the 2024/25 Serie A title to Napoli by one point.
Al-Hilal have been monitoring the Italian boss for a while, and a lucrative offer worth €25 million on a three-year deal is on the table.
Although the Nerazzurri want to continue with Inzaghi, whose contract expires next year, he is tempted to make a big-money switch to the Saudi Pro League.
Inzaghi will decide on his future in the coming days after the meeting with Inter executives.
The former Lazio manager has revolutionised the Nerazzurri since his arrival in 2021, establishing himself as one of the best coaches in Europe.
The 49-year-old has guided them to a Serie A title, two Coppa Italia titles, two Italian Super Cups, and two runners-up finishes in the Champions League.
Fabregas is a manager in demand, drawing interest from Bundesliga clubs, including Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig.
However, the Serie A outfit want to keep hold of him following his massive impact at the club.
Fabregas exceeded expectations in his debut season in Italy, inspiring Como to a top-10 finish while playing an attractive brand of football.
Marseille manager Roberto De Zerbi is also on Inter’s wishlist, but they could look to keep him following the Champions League qualification.
Inter have also shortlisted Parma head coach Cristian Chivu and Genoa’s Patrick Vieira.
