Inter Milan boss Simone Inzaghi addressed the fitness conditions of Marcus Thuram and Hakan Calhanoglu ahead of tonight’s game against Feyenoord.
Speaking to Prime via FCInterNews, the 48-year-old manager admitted both players are ‘available’ for selection despite minor injury woes.
These are challenging times for Inter.
Indeed, injuries to several first-team stars have depleted Inzaghi’s options ahead of this evening’s clash in Rotterdam.
Federico Dimarco, Carlos Augusto, Nicola Zalewski, and Matteo Darmian are on the sidelines.
Despite recovering from thumb surgery, Yann Sommer will likely start on the bench.
Josep Martinez should remain in goal.
Therefore, Inter can ill-afford to lose more key players, namely Calhanoglu and Thuram.
Both have recently struggled with injuries.
While Thuram carries an ankle problem since the game against Fiorentina, Calhanoglu had to come off early against Napoli.
However, Inzaghi insists both will be ready for tonight’s game.
“Thuram didn’t ask to be subbed off against Napoli,” Inzaghi confirmed.
“He had a light workload in the 15 days prior, except for the day before the match.

“But he trained and has no issues. Calhanoglu will be available.”
Meanwhile, Inzaghi also addressed the potential formation tweak.
“That’s certainly a possibility, but I believe a team that plays with five at the back can still defend with four.
“The players know this, and I’m deciding whether to field Bastoni or Acerbi, as they are the only left-footed defenders available.”
Furthermore, he addressed the team’s current state.
“We have played many matches, we have worked hard,” Inzaghi added.
“Now we have some absences, unfortunately all in the same area of the pitch.
“We are in an emergency situation, just as we were in previous games, and with Dimarco’s absence, even more so.
“But we will still play a great game in this Champions League Round of 16, which we have earned with great merit.
“It’s not the easiest moment, but we are ready.”
