Despite missing several first-team stars due to injuries, Inter delivered another sublime performance.

In doing so, they left second-placed Napoli three points behind while potentially ending Atalanta’s title hopes.

Indeed, Gian Piero Gasperini’s men are now six points adrift of the top spot, with only nine games left.

Meanwhile, Inzaghi detailed how significant team unity is.

“The key is sacrificing together,” he claimed.

“We played very well technically, which is crucial when facing Atalanta. Managing the ball well was fundamental.”

Furthermore, he admitted that he relishes the upcoming international break.

“We’ll enjoy the view from the top but focus on recharging our physical and mental energy.

“Apart from Zielinski, I hope to have everyone available after the break.

Simone Inzaghi Hails Inter Milan ‘Great Match’ vs Atalanta

“We played a great match against a very strong team,” Inzaghi stated. “We fully deserved the win, but it’s not decisive yet.”

Then, he hailed the team’s overall strength.

“We were aggressive and determined. To win in Bergamo, we had to play like this.

“We gave very little to a team that had scored 63 goals, just like us. We showed we are a true team, with a capital T.”

Meanwhile, Yann Bisseck replaced the injured Denzel Dumfries in the second half.

It wasn’t the first time the German played on the wing this season.

“There was a great spirit of sacrifice. We finished with Bisseck at right wingback and Correa wide on the left,” Inzaghi continued.

“We have some difficulties in those positions, but we have a big heart.

“Bisseck is a defender who can play anywhere at the back – it was a bit of a stretch for him, but he did well.”
