Inter Milan pulled off a stunning late comeback to edge past Barcelona 7-6 on aggregate in a breathtaking, unforgettable Champions League semi-final encounter.

With only two minutes of stoppage time remaining, Inter were trailing 3-2 on the night and facing elimination when veteran defender Francesco Acerbi, 37, blasted a cross high into the net to even the score.

Then, substitute Davide Frattesi secured victory for the reigning Italian titleholders, bending a superb left-footed strike into the far corner during the opening half of extra time.

The result sends Inter to their second Champions League final in three years. The three-time European champions reached the showpiece after 180 minutes of pulsating action across both legs, featuring 13 goals and multiple dramatic momentum shifts.

Barcelona were just moments away from their first final appearance in a decade, having mounted a comeback from 2-0 down - mirroring the events of the first leg - to lead 3-2 on the night.

Young star Lamine Yamal nearly forced a penalty shootout, but was twice thwarted by brilliant saves from goalkeeper Yann Sommer, allowing Inter to cling to their lead and ignite wild celebrations.

Inter, who fell 1-0 to Manchester City in the 2023 final, will now face either Paris Saint-Germain or Arsenal at Bayern Munich's Allianz Arena on Saturday, 31 May, in the 2025 final.

Arsenal head into the second leg in France on Wednesday trailing 1-0 after last week's home defeat at the Emirates.
