Inter Remain Likely to Offload Two Fringe Forwards

Marko Arnautovic has had a strong second half of the season, but it might not be enough for him to stay at Inter, while Joaquin Correa has been destined to leave all year long after failing to find a home last summer, Fabrizio Romano reports (via SOSFanta).

The contracts of the two strikers expire on June 30th. The club doesn’t plot to extend them. The Austrian marksman’s one has a clause to renew it. Coach Simone Inzaghi stated they’d mull it over after being asked about it in a recent presser.

Arnautovic had a slow start but stepped up in 2025 when Inter rested or didn’t have their starters, scoring four goals and providing two assists, while Correa has never been truly convincing.

The 36-year-old has hit the net 7 times across all competitions, while the Argentinian speedster has scored once and set up 4 teammates in 20 displays. The ex-Bologna star returned to the club as a free agent two years ago after a short but intense spell in 2009/2010.

Our Take on Inter, Arnautovic, and Correa

They have to trim the fat if they follow through on their intention to add a third stellar striker. While the former has outplayed Mehdi Taremi for most of the season, he’s likely to pay the price for the fact that he’s a lot easier to offload. The Iranian talisman has two more years on his contract, and it’s not so sure they’d find a taker. Unless there’s a short-term extension, they won’t have them for the later stages of the Club World Cup. Perhaps they’ll agree to a rescission in early June. It’s uncharted territory there.
