International Player Power Rankings: Salah, Kane and a surprising No1 | OneFootball

What a wonderful final international break of the year it was.

We saw beautiful goals, dramatic climaxes and heaps of impressive individual displays.

So following on from last month’s international action, here’s our fresh set of power rankings.

10. Richarlison – Brazil (New entrant)

Came on and did well in Friday’s friendly against Uruguay, and then replaced Neymar to score the winner against Cameroon in mid-week. Not bad.

9. Fabian Delph – England (New entrant)

The skipper was England’s best player against Croatia as he completely bossed the midfield and made Luka Modrić look average. That’s no mean feat.

8. Aleksandr Mitrović – Serbia (New entrant)

The Fulham striker scored twice during the international break, leaving him top of the UEFA Nations League scoring charts with six. It would have been seven had he not done this, however …

7. Haris Seferović – Switzerland (New entrant)

The Benfica striker netted a stunning hat-trick against Belgium to book Switzerland’s unlikely place in the Nations League final four.

6. James Forrest – Scotland (New entrant)

The Celtic man scored five goals in two games during the break, including a hat-trick against Israel which sealed Scotland’s promotion to Nations League B.

5. André Silva – Portugal (New entrant)

The Sevilla striker scored his 15th international goal against Poland on Tuesday and has stepped up to become Portugal’s talisman in the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo.

4. Mohamed Salah – Egypt (New entrant)

The Egyptian King has totally shaken off those early season cobwebs now and netted a last minute winner against Tunisia on Friday to book his side’s spot at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

3. Frenkie de Jong – Netherlands (New entrant)

The Dutchman literally made us drool with his performances against France and Germany. There’s a reason why Barcelona and Manchester City are after him.

2. Harry Kane – England (New entrant)

A proper centre forward who, as evidenced in England’s win over Croatia on Sunday, scores important goals when they are needed.

1. Virgil van Dijk – Netherlands

The Liverpool man put in absolutely epic performances against both France and Germany and netted a late equaliser in the latter game. He might just be the best centre-back in the world at the moment.
