Inzaghi’s Gamble Pays Off As Inter Milan Finally Sit In Driver’s Seat In Serie A Title Race Vs Napoli

Simone Inzaghi has seen his gamble pay off as Inter Milan are finally in the driver’s race for the Serie A title race.
The Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInter1908, argue that the Nerazzurri coach has bet on the title race not requiring as dominant a run as last season’s.
Inter Milan have needed to juggle quite a few competitions this season.
The Nerazzurri have had a tough Serie A title race on their hands. Already, Napoli and Atalanta have pushed them harder than Juventus and AC Milan had last time out.
And in the Champions League, things are tougher than ever. The “league phase” this campaign had two extra matches in comparison to the group stage of previous years.
Then, there has also been the Coppa Italia. Inter face Lazio in the quarterfinals of that competition tomorrow.
And that’s forgetting the Supercoppa Italiana in January, as well as the Club World Cup at the end of the season.
Seemingly in recognition of this, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has not quite gone all in on the Serie A title race.
The Nerazzurri coach has also prioritized other competitions.

While Inter failed to win the Supercoppa for a fourth season running, they are very much alive in the Coppa Italia and Champions League.
Meanwhile, in Serie A, Inter have had a tough go keeping up with Napoli.
But this weekend marked a turning point. For the first time since the very start of the season, Inter are ahead of the Partenopei in the table.
Meanwhile, Atalanta are right there just three points behind.
This doesn’t look likely to be a season where one team dominates the league. Inter had done so last campaign, and Napoli in the one before.
But the Nerazzurri are right on track to finish with somewhere around 85 points at the end of the season.
This may not be as impressive as the more than ninety points Inter racked up last time around.
But it may prove to be enough, as Napoli are finally really starting to stumble.
If this also allows Inter to fight in the Champions League and Coppa Italia, it could prove to be a very shrewd bet indeed by Inzaghi.
