Mehdi Taremi will start this evening’s Serie A clash between Torino and Inter Milan.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Few would deny that striker Mehdi Taremi has had an underwhelming debut season with Inter Milan.
The Iranian joined the Nerazzurri last summer on a free transfer. There were expectations that he could provide a starting-quality alternative to Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram in attack.
However, Taremi has scored just three goals all season.
There has been a feeling that the 32-year-old has never really looked sharp. And physical problems have certainly played their part, as Taremi has dealt with an ongoing groin problem.

In the last few weeks, there have been a few signs that Mehdi Taremi may have finally turned a corner.
The Iranian international came off the bench for Lautaro Martinez in both legs of Inter’s Champions League semifinal tie against Barcelona.
Moreover, Taremi impressed in those appearances. Particularly in the second leg, where he provided the assist for Davide Frattesi’s winning goal in extra time.
And Taremi will certainly get plenty of opportunities over the next few weeks.
In Inter’s last three matches of the season, coach Simone Inzaghi will be managing a number of key players’ fitness in view of the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain.
These include Lautaro Martinez, currently out with a thigh problem, and Marcus Thuram.
Therefore, it is no surprise that Taremi is set to get his chance in the starting eleven against Torino this evening.
Moreover, the former Porto striker will certainly play more over the last couple matches of the campaign against Lazio and Como as well.
Therefore, this could be a great chance for Taremi to finally prove his worth at Inter.
