Isak nominated for Premier League EA Sports Player of the Season award | OneFootball

The Swedish striker has enjoyed another excellent campaign in front of goal for the Magpies and has netted 23 league goals to date with two Premier League fixtures remaining, the most by a Newcastle player in a single season since Alan Shearer in 2001/02.

The 25-year-old, who was nominated for the award last season, has led the line in impeccable fashion for Eddie Howe's side, with only Liverpool's Mohamed Salah outscoring Isak so far this season (28), and became the first Newcastle player to score in eight consecutive league matches.

Excluding penalties, Isak's 19 league goals are the joint-most of all players in the English top-flight so far this term.

Isak features on an eight-man shortlist which includes Liverpool trio Salah, Ryan Gravenberch and Virgil van Dijk, Nottingham Forest duo Morgan Gibbs-White and Chris Wood, Declan Rice of Arsenal and Brentford's Bryan Mbuemo.
