Davide Frattesi will once again be on the bench for Inter Milan in this afeternoon’s Serie A match against Venezia, as rumours about his future swirl.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that Piotr Zielinski will get the nod with Henrikh Mkhitaryan injured.
Frattesi’s future at Inter has come under the microscope since the start of the January transfer window.
Reportedly, the Italian international is pushing for a move away.
Frattesi no longer feels satisfied with his playing time at Inter.
And Roma have reportedly been lining up a move for the 25-year-old. They are not the only club to show an interest, however.
All of this speculation and drama around Frattesi’s future is intersecting with a busy run of fixtures for Inter.
The Italian international is still very much an Inter player as the team return to action in Serie A with today’s match away to Venezia.
However, Frattesi will not be in the starting eleven this afternoon.
That is despite the fact that Henrikh Mkhitaryan is out with an injury.
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will instead opt to start summer signing Piotr Zielinski.
The fact that Frattesi won’t be getting a chance even in a match where Mkhitaryan is absent does seem to provide a clue about why he doesn’t feel that he’s getting enough chances to start.
