The Ivan Juric Newcastle United press conference – 23 January 2025:
Ivan Juric on player reactions and training intensity as his side try to climb out of the relegation zone:
“They understand.
“We have to raise our energy levels to do 95 minutes with high pressure and intensity.
“You cannot change everything but the players understand and are working hard.
“Every day that we work, we are getting better.
“They understand more and I understand more of them.
“The players like it because they have noticed they are getting better.”
Ivan Juric on Paul Onuachu, who has been a standout player for the Saints this season:
“He has had a good week with confidence (after scoring at Forest in the 3-2 defeat) but I like him because he’s tough and training at the maximum.”
Ivan Juric on Tyler Dibling’s injury:
“Now at this moment, we are a little bit more optimistic, we will see next week how we are proceeding.
“Next week we can say something more.”
Ivan Juric on Aaron Ramsdale:
“We had a problem with Rambo, the goalkeeper.
“He did something yesterday on the training pitch, we will see tomorrow.”
Ivan Juric on new signing Albert Gronbaek:
“He has come in as a loan and will be a good option for us to take a look at him for six months.
“He has only trained once with us today, I think it will be more likely for the next game.”
Ivan Juric on 18-year-old winger Tyler Dibling, who has been linked with other clubs, including Newcastle United:
“There are no assurances in football but I am pretty sure I will be coaching him for the remainder of this year.”
Ivan Juric on Kamaldeen Sulemana:
“I think he has had some really good games since I’ve arrived and he will not play against Newcastle because he has a little injury.
“Like Tyler Dibling, I think he will stay here.
“I think we will find a way to play with these two young guys, they did really well and now we are losing them because of their injuries.
