Liverpool have made a great start to the 2024/25 campaign, leading the Premier League table by five points over Manchester City.

The Reds moved in a new direction during the summer after Jurgen Klopp left the club.

The transition has been smooth, and Arne Slot has become a new hero at Anfield in such a short time.

Slot is very happy with the squad he inherited from Klopp, and apart from adding Federico Chiesa, he hasn’t made any major additions.

James Peace has suggested on The Athletic that the Reds are unlikely to sign any players in the January window as well unless there are major injuries.

Liverpool have been linked with a move for Egyptian attacking midfielder Omar Marmoush in recent weeks.

What James Pearce has said about Omar Marmoush

He is often seen as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah. The 25-year-old has been in superb form for Eintracht Frankfurt, scoring 14 goals and providing eight assists in all competitions.

Peace, however, has said that Liverpool have not made any contact to sign him, and they will only move for a new attacker if one of their star players leaves.

He wrote: “There were some reports in Germany that Liverpool had already initiated contact, but I’ve been told that’s not the case.

Marmoush is having a brilliant season, but Liverpool have six elite attackers — Salah, Diaz, Nunez, Jota, Gakpo and Chiesa. They would only look to bolster that department if someone left.”

Liverpool unlikely to move for Marmoush in January

Marmoush is enjoying a brilliant season, and he is definitely one to watch out for.

He can play in multiple positions and could be a brilliant addition to the Reds side.

However, unless the Reds sell Mohamed Salah next summer, which is a possibility, it is really hard to see them stockpiling the attacking department.
