Jamie Carragher has predicted Southampton to beat West Ham in their Premier League fixture at St Marys Stadium on Boxing Day.
Jamie Carragher recently found himself the figure of ridicule from Southampton fans. Unfortunately, the Liverpool legend and well-known pundit was left with egg on his face, after criticisng Ivan Juric for not involving himself with Southampton's preparations against Fulham.
Of course, everybody else knew that the reason why Juric played spectator was because work permit delays prevented him from playing a bigger role last weekend.
However, Carragher might have redeemed himself among the Southampton faithful, if his hopefully-mystic prediction proves true.
Revealing his score predictions for this week's Premier League fixtures, Jamie Carragher has boldly tipped Southampton to narrowly beat West Ham United on Boxing Day.
Carragher has included the Southampton vs West Ham fixture within his super six predictions. He put Southampton down to win the match 2-1.
While he didn't include a reasoning for his prediction, the super six admin provided the antidote to his scoreline, with the admin predicting West Ham to win 1-2.
Ivan Juric has spoken a lot to the media in the buildup to this game. It has probably come as a shock to his system to have worked so much in the past week but as we all know, the English football calendar heats up the most at this time of the year. It is not like this in every country.
Juric has placed a great level of respect on West Ham United, claiming he was impressed with some of their fast players while analysing how the Hammers play. While he respects West Ham, he thinks Southampton has what it takes to win.
So, hopefully, Carragher and Juric see eye-to-eye in midweek and both of their predictions about Southampton's win comes true. It would definitely be the perfect way for Ivan Juric to begin his new Saints life, with a win
Former Chelsea and Celtic player Chris Sutton, though, disagrees with Jamie Carragher. He thinks the game will be another "bore draw".
