New York City FC have added two HomeGrown talented ahead of the 2025 season. New York has first signed current U.S. youth international Jacob Arroyave to a deal through the 2027 season with an option for 2028. The 17 year old is a central midfielder who scored 2 goals in MLS Next Pro last season. In his career, Arroyave has roughly 1,200 professional minutes under his belt all for New York City II in MLS Next Pro.
New York City have also signed 21 year old defender Prince Amponsah to a HomeGrown deal coming out of Wake Forest University. Amponsah has primarily played ceterback, but has the ability to also bump out wide as a left-back as well. With the assumed departure of Christian McFarlane, I’d assume that Ampoonsah is being signed to be a depth piece at the left-back position on this roster.
